SECOND DAY AT TRENTHAM

Improved Conditions Likely (Special) WELLINGTON, October 24. The fields for the second day of the Wellington Racing Club’s spring meeting have thinned out a little, but they are very good.. The weather has been fine since the first day and there is every prospect that conditions will remain good for the racing. There will also be an improvement in the track, which has dried up under the sun and wind today. Under the improved conditions some horses may be able to show better form than they did on the first day, but as a rule the preceding day’s running at Trentham is very reliable. However, there is a very large number of fresh horses engaged and among them are many decided possibilities. The Wellington Guineas, with the exception of the Auckland colts, has drawn the strongest field available and as there is plenty of winning form among the contestants it should be a fine race.
