Pittaway, 15-6, 15-6; C. Nelson beat H. G. Curtis, 15-4, 15-4; A. Farrant beat J. Anderson, 15-2, 15-13. Second round.— R. Robertson beat R. Anderson,' 15-7, 15- C. Nelson beat A. Farrant, 15-5, 12-15, 15-7. Final: C. Nelson beat R. Robertson, 15-11, 15-10. Pettersson Cup. Women’s Singles.— First round: Miss R. McKenzie beat Miss F. McNeill, 11-1, 11-0; Miss McSoriley beat Mrs A. Inglis, 11-4, 11-5; Miss Mcßride beat Mrs C. M. Inglis, 11-4, 11-5; Miss McDowall beat Miss J. Anderson, 11-8, 11-7; Miss M. Final: Miss McKenzie beat Miss Thompson, 11-6, 11-3. Anonymous Cup. Women’s B Grade Singles.—Miss Thompson beat Miss McDowall, 21-14; Miss J. Anderson beat Miss F. McNeill, 21-16. Final.—Miss M, Thompson beat Miss Anderson, 21-11. Women’s Doubles.—First round: Misses ’McSoriley and Thompson beat Misses Mcßride and McKenzie, 21-5, 21-16; Mrs A. Inglis and Miss Farrant beat Mrs C. M. Inglis and Miss McNeill, 21-3, 21-10; Miss J. Anderson and Miss McDowall a bye. Second round: Mrs A. Inglis and Miss Farrant beat , 21-6, 21-4. Final: Mrs A. Nelson beat Miss McSoriley and Farrant, 21-8 21-16. BOWLING CLUB OPENING The Bowling Club was officially opened in fine but rather cold weather. There was a fairly good attendance, including visitors from Arrowtown. Mr L. Hanrahan, president, welcomed the visitors and congratulated the greenkeepers on the excellent condition of the greens. Mrs Hanrahan sent up the first bowl after which friendly matches were played. TENNIS CLUB OPENING There was only a small number of players and friends present at the official opening of the tennis season. Mr C. M. Inglis, president, declared the courts open after which friendly games were played for the rest of the afternoon.
