ARTS AND CRAFTS CIRCLE

ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting of the Arts and Crafts Circle of the Southland Women’s Club was held on Wednesday afternoon, when the annual report and balance-sheet were read and adopted. The following office-bearers were elected: Chairman, Mrs H. R. Gibson; secretary, Mrs J. H. Young (re-elect-ed) ; committee, Mesdames F. Lange and A. Tapper (re-elected), Mesdames i J. McCrostie, lan Taylor, R. J. Gilmour, I C. Lange and Miss U. Godward; reprei sentative on the entertainment commiti tee, Miss Eileen O’Byrne. j Mrs Ritchie Crawford, president of | the club, congratulated the circle on : a successful year’s work. ; The spinning of wool in all its phases I was demonstrated by Mrs J. Dennis, of Waikaia, provincial president of the j W.D.F.U. Mrs G. R. Milward, on behalf of the members, thanked Mrs Den- | nis for her interesting talk and demon- | stration. Mrs Milward and Mrs R. ; Kingsland were appointed to form a • spinning bee among members.
