PATRIOTIC CONCERT An enjoyable concert arranged and produced by Mrs D. Bocliel was held in the Buffalo hall. The Mayor, Mr N. W. McGorlick, explained that the proceeds of the entertainment we:: to be used to purchase wool for the patriotic knitting circle. At the conclusion of the concert he congratulated Mrs Bocliel on the excellence of the performance and thanked all those responsible for their contribution to a patriotic effort. Those taking part in the concert were Mrs D. Bochel, Misses R. Coote, T. Spencer, B. Anglem, G. Hart, M. Metzger, M. White, E. Jamieson, G. Henderson, J. Henderson, V. Barton, G. Gray, A. McQuarrie, L. and R. Calder and P. Sangster, Masters A. Hart, K. Curran, H. Craig and F. Butler. The accompanists were Misses L. Hunter and S. Hart. SOCIAL EVENING There was a good attendance at a social evening for the stall-holders and all those who had assisted at the recent R.S.A. carnival. The function was held in the Athenaeum Hall. The president of the Bluff branch of the R.S.A., Mr N. W. McGorlick, thanked all those who had contributed to the unqualified success of the carnival. A feature of the financial return was the low expenses. From a gross profit of 3527/3/7, expenditure of only £24/6/2 had allowed a net profit of £502/17/5. Mr McGorlick said that he would like to pay a tribute to the public of Bluff for its fine response. The result of the carnival would place the. finances of the club on a firm footing and ensure that the amenities of a fine club room would be in fit condition for the men returning from the war. f
