MELBOURNE LEGACY FOR EDUCATION
(Rec. 6.30 p.m.) MELBOURNE, Sept. 23. The second huge legacy left for educational purposes in recent weeks was announced today when probate was applied for in the estate of David Edward Lewis, proprietor of the drapery firm of Love and Lewis, Melbourne. Mr Lewis left £700,000 as a perpetual trust for scholarships at Melbourne University. The will provides scholarships for any course other than theology, music or arts for boys of parents earning not more than £6 a week.
