USE OF TILED ROOFS
A recommendation that the specification for future dwellings to be erected under the rural housing scheme be amended to allow for tiled roofs was made in a letter received at yesterday’s meeting of the Southland County Council from the Building Controller (Mr G. W. Albertson). The letter added that tiles were more readily available. Referring to specific jobs now held up for fibrolite roofing, the controller stated that he had had discussions with the manufacturers and they had assured him that the required material was being made available immediately.
