FREEZING CHARGES

FORMULA TO BE PREPARED (Special) WELLINGTON, September 10. Steps were begin taken to determine a formula for charges by freezing companies, the acting Prime Minister (the Hon. W. Nash) informed the House of Representatives tonight when replying to an opinion expressed by the Hon. Adam Hamilton (Nat., Wallace) that the methods in the present arrangement were not workable. Mr Hamilton said some better method was needed to protect the farmer against the charges. After giving the history of the fixing of the charges, Mr Nash said he felt the job was not to worry so much about the past, but to make sure that processing charges in future were more reasonable from the producer’s point of view.
