AMERICAN BASES IN AFRICA?
(Rec. 12.15 p.m.) NEW YORK, Sept. 5. The New York Daily Mirror columnists Pearson and Allen revealed that the United States is quietly building strategic bases on the African coast to guard against a Nazi air putsch from Dakar to South America. The bases include aerodromes at Freetown and Liberia, the last of which will be equipped to handle both aeroplanes and submarines.
