NORTH INVERCARGILL PRESBYTERIANS

REVIEW OF YEAR’S WORK The session reported a further large increase in the membership during the past year at the annual meeting of the North Invercargill Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Hugh Graham presided. It was stated that 33 members were received on profession of their faith and 56 by transfer from other congregations. Many of the young men were serving the Empire overseas, and some had been reported wounded and missing. With a roll of nearly 300 the Sunday School staff was engaged in an important task, and the new Sunday School Hall was proving a great asset in the youth department. The choir continued to give much appreciated service, and the missionary organizations reported increased interest and givings. The balance-sheet showed a satisfactory credit in all accounts with a special expenditure of £1350 for the new Sunday School building. After the conclusion of business a programme of music was presented. Presentations were made during the evening to Mi’ J. Docherty and Mr J. Pullar as tokens of esteem and recognition of long and faithful service on behalf of the church. The minister reviewed the work of the year and thanked office-bearers and members for their friendly cooperation.
