FAMILY SPICE CAKE

Threequarters of a pound flour, one teaspoon baking powder, two ounces sultanas, one teaspoon mixed spice, four ounces butter, one tablespoon golden syrup, one egg and a little milk. Cream butter and syrup, add beaten egg, then fruit, after which the flour, spices and lastly baking powder. Mix well, then add milk if necessary. Put in greased baking tin and bake in a steady oven.
