GORE

MUNICIPAL BAND “Despite a seriously depleted membership, it is gratifying to record that the band has carried out all customary engagements during the year,” states the annual report of the Gore Municipal Band. The report states that much of the credit for this must be given to the deputy-conductor, Mr E. Henderson, who had worked hard in holding the band together. The following members of the band were on active service: Conductor C. E. Miller, Drum-Major E. T. Eastwood, Band-Sergeant J. B. McMath, Bandsmen R. Heaps, W. Russell, T. Roberts, J. L. Ferguson and W. Graeve. Conductor Miller was in charge of the band of the 2nd Echelon, and Sergeant McMath and Bandsman Heaps were members of army bands.
