A suggestion that an area of lowlying ground on the city reserve in Gala street, opposite the Park Hospital and near the new museum building, should be turned into a pond for ducks was made by Mr D. Wishart at the meeting of the council of the Southland Acclimatization Society last night. When a member asked who would look after the feeding of the ducks Dr A. F. Ritchie Crawford said: “The school children will look after that. They will be giving their lunches to the ducks.”
