“THE TRUTH ABOUT HESS”
(Rec. 6.30 p.m.) LONDON, June 11. “I am in a position to tell you the truth about Hess, because it will help you to< realize what a fight we must make to break the power of the Nazi gang,” said the Lord Provost of Glasgow, Sir Patrick Dollan, in the course of a speech. “Hess came as an unrepentant Nazi and is still a loyal supporter of Hitler. He believed he could remain in Scotland for two days to discuss peace proposals with a certain group, after which he would receive petrol and maps enabling him to return to Germany. That is the genuine truth. I understand Hess is ‘annoyed because he is kept a prisoner.’ ”
