NIGHTCAPS DOG TRIALS
ONE EVENT COMPLETED YESTERDAY
The annual competitions of the Nightcaps Dog Trials Club were continued on Mr H. A. McConachie’s property at Nightcaps yesterday. The weather was cold, with intermittent showers of sleet and hail. The sheep for the trials were lent by Mr N. McGregor and Fraser Brothers. The judge was Mr J. J. McCrostie, of Invercargill. Twenty-three dogs competed in the event that was completed yesterday. Following is the result:— Heading and Yarding.—Distance, 400 yards.—G. Wilson’s Mitty (53pts) 1, R. Anderson’s Fan (52pts) 2, R. Turnbull’s Jack (51pts) 3, L. Cowie’s Zip (50Jpts) 4, J. B. Queale’s Bess and J. T. Nelson’s Roy (50pts), equal, 5.
