MEETING AT OTAKI
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, May 17. The winter meeting of the UtaKi Maori Racing Club opened today m fine but overcast weather. There was a large attendance and the going was good. The totalizator handled £18,061, against £15,801 for eight races last year.

HOCKEY MATCHES POSTPONED All men’s and women’s hockey matches which were to have been played at Invercargill on Saturday were postponed because of the wet weather.
