WHISKY’ ADVANCED IN PRICE
25 PER CENT. INCREASE
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, April 30. Advice has been received of an advance in the export price of whisky in case and bulk of approximately 25 per cent. It will not apply to whisky now in New Zealand or afloat. The effect will be not only to increase the price of whisky, but also to reduce the quantities shipped, inasmuch as licences to import are based on the 1938 values, and not the volume.
