MUSIC OF DELIUS

LECTURE-RECITAL NEXT SATURDAY Frederick Delius, the English composer who enriched the national musical heritage with works of rare loveliness, will be the subject of the opening lecture of the season of the Music Section of the University Association of Southland next Saturday night. Many notable examples of his music will be performed during the evening to cover as full a range as possible of the output of one of the last of the great romantic school of composers. Mrs P. Frampton will sing several of the beautiful songs by Delius and examples of his piano music will be played by Mrs A. F. Manning and Mr Charles Martin. Recorded music will include the great orchestral and choral work “Sea Drift,” one of the violin sonatas and orchestral pieces.
