PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that the Southland County Council proposes at its meeting to be held at the County Offices, Clyde Street, Invercargill, on the 30th day of May 1941 to pass a resolution by way of special order constituting under the above name an area in the Southland County containing approximately six thousand eight hundred acres and comprising lands in the vicinity of the Waianiwa Stream in Blocks five, six, seven, eleven, sixteen and twenty-two New River Hundred part Sections twenty and twenty-one no Block New River Hundred and Blocks one, two and three Woodfield Village and also in Argyle Village, a drainage district under Section 168 of the Counties Act, 1920, and that a Plan of the proposed district is deposited at the Southland County Offices, Clyde Street, Invercargill, and is there open to public inspection without fee during office hours. SOCIAL SECURITY CONTRIBUTION

& NATIONAL SECURITY TAX. I fIHARGE ON INCOME OTHER U THAN SALARY OR WAGES: MAY INSTALMENT: The first I quarterly instalment of the combined Social Security and National Security charge of 2/- in the £ on income other than salary or wages derived during the year ended 31st March, 1941, falls due on Ist May. The charge is payable by: (a) All persons aged 16 years or over ordinarily resident in New Zealand (including natives but excluding persons receiving total disability war pensions); (b) All companies, other than those specifically exempted, (c) All trustees in respect of Trustees’ income, i.e., income derived by such trustees which no beneficiary is entitled to receive during the income year. Declarations of such income must be furnished in May on form S.S.C. 55, in accordance with the instructions thereon. If no income other than salary or wages was derived, a declaration ' marked “Nil” must be furnished. Declaration forms are obtainable at all Money-order offices. Persons W’ho fail to furnish declarations as and when required are liable, on summary conviction, to a fine of £5O. Amounts unpaid within one month of the due date incur 10% penalty. SOCIAL SECURITY REGISTRATION FEE: An instalment of this fee (5/-) is payable on Ist May, 1941 by all persons aged 16 years or over ordinarily resident in New Zealand who are not exempt. Exemption details and forms may be obtained at Money-order offices. Every person entitled to exemption (including those receiving Age Benefits under the Social Security Act but no other income) must complete the exemption application form and present it with his or her coupon-book at a Money-order office within seven days after the last day for payment of the instalment, otherwise payment may be demanded. Full name and postal address must be entered on the relative coupon before payment of any instalment. An employer employing for more than seven days a person unregistered or in arrear with the Registration fee is liable on summary conviction to a fine of £2O.
