GIBRALTAR AN ISLAND?

(Rec. 11 p.m.) LONDON, April 24. The Moscow radio reports that the transformation of Gibraltar into an island is almost complete. Canadian soldiers are finishing digging a moat across the neck of the promontory 13 feet wide and 10 feet deep, and are filling it with water. The hospital and other installations have been transferred underground to rooms hewn out of rock. Some are above water-level. New guns, including very heavy ones, have been placed in position. Ships with war materials arc arriving daily.
