BRITISH RELATIONS WITH SOVIET
(Rec. 9 p.m.) London, April 24. Regretting that he could not report any progress so far with negotiations for a trade agreement and a general settlement with the Soviet, the Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs, Mr R. A. Butler, stated in the House of Commons: “I need hardly say that the British Government will always be ready when a favourable occasion offers to discuss questions of common concern with the Soviet with the object of settling all outstanding questions in a manner which will be equally beneficial to both parties.”
Mr Butler added that the status of the Baltic States was a question that might well be discussed.
