PRIVATE’S DEATH FROM WOUNDS (P.A.) ' WELLINGTON, April 24. The following casualties are officially announced: —- Private Laurence Francis Spaulding, died of wounds. His mother is Mrs D. Spaulding, Wellington. Private Cyril William Wells, died of sickness. His mother is Mrs E. O. Wells, Christchurch. Private Carl Hiskens, wounded. His sister is Mrs D. McDougall, Lower Hutt. Private Frederick Walter Franklin, wounded accidentally. His wife is Mrs A. D. Franklin, Hastings. Pilot Officer Edward Walter Gillies Churches, R.N.Z.A.F.,. missing on operations. His mother is Mrs F. Sharp, Mount Eden, Auckland. Pilot Officer Churches was born in Cambridge. New Zealand, in 1921, and was educated at the Auckland Grammar School. He left New Zealanr early in 1940.
