WOODLANDS

PATRIOTIC MEETING

A meeting of the Woodlands Women’s Patriotic Committee was held in the hall, Mrs A. McKee presiding over a good attendance. A report was given of the packing ol 22 soldiers’ parcels for overseas. These parcels have been forwarded to the depot in Invercargill. Arrangements were made to send a special parcel to each of the local men overseas, and thanks were given for the donation from the district picnic committee of the contents of these parcels. Stalls were allotted for the bazaar to be held by the main patriotic committee in May, and members were asked to begin their work at once. Interesting letters from overseas soldiers were read, and wool from the depot for knitting was distributed.
