AIRMAN-PILOT KILLED
Aircraft Collide In Mid-Air
(United Press Association) WELLINGTON, March 4.
An airman-pilot under training was killed this morning when two aircraft from the Royal New Zealand Air Force station at Ohakea engaged in formation flying halfway between Shannon and Levin collided in mid-air and made forced landings. The casualty was: Leading Aircraftman Evan Roy Archer. Father Mr E. Archer, Bank of New Zealand, Te Kuiti. He was the sole occupant of the machine. The pilot of the other machine was Leading Aircraftman Gordon Griffiths Thomas. His mother is Mrs M. E. Thomas, Golf road, Epsom. He was the sole occupant, and was not injured. A court of inquiry will be held. Leading Aircraftman Archer was born at Wellington, and educated at the Te Kuiti District High School.
AEROPLANE CRASHES NEAR AUCKLAND

WELLINGTON, March 4.
Leading Aircraftman Warwick Ashling Clouston, an airman-pilot undertraining at the Royal New Zealand Air Force station at Whenuapai, was the sole occupant of a D.H. 82 Tiger Moth aircraft which crashed from a height of 50 feet on Muriwai beach this afternoon. He suffered moderately serious injuries, including concussion, facial abrasions and a fractured nose.
The injured man is a son of Mrs K. A. Clouston, 10 Ocean View road, Milford, Auckland.
