SERIOUS CRACKS IN LIBRARY BUILDING

The existence of serious cracks in the Dee street frontage of the Public Library building was reported to the City Council last night by the Finance Committee. The report stated that the city engineer, Mr F. M. Corkill, had advised that serious cracking had occurred at the south corner and near the library entrance. The cost of repairs might reach £5OO. The committee had arranged for an architect to examine the structure and report. In the meantime the contemplated painting of the building had been held over. Cr A. W. Jones said Mr A. C.
