BRITISH NEWSPAPERS REDUCED IN SIZE

(Received March 4, 8.30 p.m.) LONDON, March 3.

The Newsprint Supply Company, at the request of the Government, is substantially cutting consumption on March 16, and forecasts further cuts in the following three months. The present reduction necessitates two fourpage a i four six-page papers weekly for penny dailies, instead of six sixpage papers. Twopenny papers come down from 12 pages to 10 per issue. The number o" copies which each newspaper will be allowed to print is also limited by the allocation weekly of tonnage of newsprint.
