COUNTY CLERKS AND ENGINEERS

Including the present county clerk, Mr H. C. Gimblett there have been only three occupants of the position during the 64 years of the council’s existence. The first clerk, Mr R. P. McGoun held the office for 29 years from 1877 to 1906, and his successor, Mr A. W. Service had a term of equal length, from 1906 to 1935. There have been four county engineers, F. H. Geisow (1877-80), C. H. Howorth (1880-1906), B. C. Basstian (1906-35), and the present engineer, Mr G. R. Milward.
