FUTURITY STAKES AT FLEMINGTON (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright) (Received February 23, 9.30 p.m.) MELBOURNE, February 22. The weather was fine and warm today. There was a large attendance at Flemington for the second day of the Victoria Amateur Turf Club’s meeting. Trebleworth just held off the fastfinishing Tourist in the St. Clair Trial. It was a well-deserved win and Trebleworth now has four placings in five starts. All Love led always in the Alma Stakes and was not extended. Tire time was a record for a two-year-old. Kelos surprised by his forward showing. High Road finished well and Beauport was close up fourth. The winner’s next start is in the Sires’ Produce Stakes. Carpentier, runner-up in each of his three previous starts, well deserved his win in the Woodcliff Handicap. Exactly and Positron made promising efforts, but Dashing Cavalier disappointed Australian Cup admirers. High Caste made a brilliant effort in the Futurity Stakes. He was third last early in the race, in the middle of the field at the turn and finished brilliantly under the whip. Zonda made a game effort and also finished well. Lucrative weakened after assistance with the pace making and was «• good third. Gold Salute was last in the early stages and did well to finish fourth. Mildura knocked up badly. High Caste has now had 24 wins, two dead-heats for first, 13 seconds, four thirds and has won £29,075 in stakes. He is fourteenth among Australasian stake winners. His trainer, J. T. Jamieson, won the Futurity Stakes previously with Ammon Ra. After an interesting race Leichar outstayed the opposition to win the Stanley Steeplechase. Parentena and Strathian ran game races. The former New Zealander Royal Fire was a bad last.

Queen Baccha enhanced her Newmarket prospects with a brilliant win in the Hawksburn Handicap. She has now had two wins and a second in three starts since arriving from Adelaide.
