Following the meeting of the War Cabinet today, which was attended by the defence chiefs and by Air Chief Marshal Sir Robert Brooke-Popham, the acting Prime Minister, Mr A. W. Fadden, issued a statement in which he said that the progress of Australia’s defence programme had been discussed in the light of the latest information received.
