National Savings Accounts

During the first week of February 434 new National Savings accounts were opened and 1260 deposits made to existing accounts at post offices in Southland. The total amount deposited for that week was £2050.

Athletic Championships A team of Invercargill athletes to take part in the Otago junior and women’s championships at the Caledonian Ground in Dunedin today left Invercargill by the afternoon express yesterday. The following are the members of the team:—G. Webb, N. Prentice, D. Grant (St. Paul’s Club), A. Edwards, H. Bouchier (Invercargill Club); Misses N. Walker, M. Newman, A. Thomson and M. Thomson (St. Paul’s Club).
