RAIDERS OVER BRITAIN
Residential Areas Bombed (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright) (Received February 14, 9.30 p.m.) LONDON, February 13. A bomb fell in a residential area in London tonight and a number of people were severely injured when they were buried under the wreckage of some houses. Rescuers were still working on the debris three hours later. Raiders were reported tonight over East Anglia and north-east Scotland. The Air Ministry and Ministry of Home Security communique states that a few enemy aircraft, for the most part flying singly, crossed our coasts during daylight today. Bombs were dropped on points in East Anglia and the North of Scotland. The damage was slight and the casualties very few. An enemy raider this morning dropped a stick of bombs on a South Wales coastal town and demolished three houses. Six people were fatally injured, including one family which was wiped out. Raiders also bombed a south-west coastal town and registered a direct hit on a cemetery. It also damaged nearby houses, causing a few casualties. A bomb fell on a congested area in the same town and demolished several houses. A small number of people was killed. Feeding arrangements at London airraid shelters are proceeding quickly. Nearly 1900 shelters nightly provide 200,000 people with food and shelter. The population varies and as the number given does not include the tube shelters served by the London Transport Board the magnitude of the task still to be performed is very great. The Ministry of Food issues equipment on free loan to all the authorities in the London area and has set up a central pool including equipment on which all the authorities may draw.
