“High State Of Preparedness” (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright) (Received February 10, 11 p.m.) DARWIN, February 10. “A high state of preparedness exists throughout the East Indies, which takes into account the fact of any situation which might arise,” said Air Chief Marshal Sir Robert Brooke-Popham, British Comn?ander-in-Chief in the Far
East, on arrival from Singapore for discussions on defence questions. He said that, although neither New Zealand nor Australia came within his command, both were vitally concerned with the situation in tire Far East. Therefore, he wanted to discuss cooperative, administrative and other problems with the defence chiefs.
