WOMEN’S DIVISION
WAIKIWI.— The monthly meeting ol the Waikiwi branch was held recently. Mrs W. A. Robertson presided over a good attendance and welcomed a new member. Mrs Anderson also welcomed members transferred from sister branches: Mrs Tomlinson, Miss Tomlinson and Mrs Rhind. A motion of sympathy was passed with Mrs Harper in her recent bereavement. A bring-and-buy sale and flower show is to be held on February 26. The competition for the March meeting will be: A pot of apple jelly. Mrs Waters gave a demonstration on fruit preserving. Competitions resulted—Something for the arts and crafts stall: Mrs G. Waters 1, Mrs Harris 2, Miss V. Robertson 3. Best bloom: Mrs Martin 1, Mrs Waters 2, Mrs G. Waters 3. Mrs Robertson, on behalf of the members, made a presentation of a box of cutlery to Miss E. Gray on the occasion of her approaching marriage. Miss Gray replied. A small presentation was made to Miss V. Robertson, treasurer, on the occasion of her twenty-first birthday. The hostesses were Mesdames Martin, France and McKenzie.
