Secretary of the Navy, told a Press conference that the aircraft-carrier Illustrious had recently been able to reach Malta and then Alexandria under her own power after a direct hit by a 10001 b bomb had killed 80 of her men and destroyed 20 planes. The explosion did not affect the power or navigability of the ship.
