INCREASE OF 7822 IN MEMBERSHIP (United Press Association) WELLINGTON, February 4. At a meeting of the Dominion executive of the New Zealand Returned Soldiers’ Association it was decided to request the Minister of Defence, the Hon. F. Jones, to expedite a decision about the increase in the rate of dependents’ allowances to conform with the recent wage increases in New Zealand. It was reported that the financial membership of the association on December 31 was 34,222, an increase of 7822 compared with the same date the previous year.
