VICTIMS OF TWO AIR CRASHES
INQUEST HELD AT BLENHEIM (United Press Association) BLENHEIM, February 5. The inquest into the two air crashes of January 21, in which four trainees of the Woodbourne flying training school were killed, followed strictly formal lines. The victims of the accidents were Leading-Aircraftmen A. V. M. Gilmour, aged 22, of Epsom, Auckland, G. W. Suisted, aged 23, of Wellington, W. F. Reader, aged 22, of Island Bay, Wellington, and R. A. Llewellyn, aged 21, of Ruawai, Auckland. They were the pilots and co-pilots «f Vickers Vincent bombers which crashed in the hills between Blenheim and Seddon within three-quarters of an hour about half-a-mile from each other in thick weather. The evidence given before the Coroner was limited to the testimony of Dr N. H. North, medical officer, at Woodbourne, who described the injuries of the victims and expressed the opinion that the deaths were instantaneous.
The Coroner returned a verdict in accordance with the medical evidence.
