ANNUAL CROQUET TOURNAMENT
FIXTURE CONTINUED YESTERDAY BAD WEATHER AFFECTS PLAY The Southland Croquet Association’s annual tournament was continued in Invercargill yesterday. Games were j played on the Invercargill, Waihopai, i Rugby Park, Northend and Southend greens. Conditions were not good for croquet yesterday, a strong wind and showers of rain interfering with the play. Following are the results of yesterday’s games:— A GRADE OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP First life, second round: Mrs Strang beat Mrs Stevens, 26-8. Second life, second round: Mrs Metcalfe beat Mrs Robinson, 26-14; Mrs Holmes beat Mrs Gerrard, 26-17. A GRADE CHAMPIONSHIP DOUBLES First round: Mesdamcs Strang and Gerrard beat Mesdamcs J. Murray and D. Robinson, 26-20. Second round: Mesdamcs Holmes and Clark beat Mesdamcs Gillandcrs and Hannah, 26-16.
A GRADE HANDICAP SINGLES First round: Mrs Clark beat Mrs Gillanders, 26-17. Second round; Mrs Metcalf beat Mrs Robinson, 26-20.
B GRADE OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP Second life, first round: Mrs D. Wilson beat Miss Campbell, 26-13; Mrs E. Albertson beat Mrs Low, 26-6; Mrs H. Albertson beat Mrs Penman, 26-8. Second life, second round: Mrs Burns beat Mrs Pearce, 26-15; Mrs Tennet beat Mrs Middleton, 26-20. Third round: Mrs Burns beat Miss O’Brien, 26-21. First life, first round: Mrs Morrison beat Mrs A. McKenzie, 26-13; Mrs Hamilton beat Mrs Pearce, 26-24,
Second round: Mrs W. Martin beat Mrs Smart, 26-15; Mrs H. Albertson beat Mrs Furniss, 26-23; Mrs Warburton beat Mrs Brownlie, 26-14.

B GRADE HANDICAP DOUBLES Second round: Mesdamcs Furniss and Newman beat Mesdames Wilson and Brownlie, 26-18; Mesdames Blanch and I Morrison beat Mrs Low and Miss Henderson, 26-18; Mesdames H. C GRADE HANDICAP Second round: Mrs Doyle beat Mrs Trusler, 26-17; Mrs Geddes beat Mrs Newton, 26-23.
