BRIDGE OVER BOMB CRATER

The Lord Mayor of London opened a bridge over the city’s largest bomb crater, which was made when a bomb scored a direct hit on a subway. The bridge consists of two steel spans supported by steel piers, and carries a wooden roadway 10 feet six inches in width. It also includes footways two feet six inches wide.
