WILL TO WIN SPIRIT IN BRITAIN

MR WILLKIE’S IMPRESSION OF TOUR (British Official Wireless) RUGBY, February 3. Liverpool dock workers gave Mr Wendell Willkie a warm welcome when he reached the city today in continuation of his tour. When Mr Willkie visited the Cathedral the chairman of the Cathedral Committee told him that the King during his last visit said: “Keep going whatever you do.” “And it is what we are doing,” the chairman added. Mr Willkie also visited an aircraft factory in the north. He made a tour of the shops and talked with workers. Going along a passage he stopped in front of a worker and asked: “How do you feel here about this war?” “We know if we work hard we are going to win,” said the worker. Mr Wilkie turned to the people with him and said: “That’s the spirit I find everywhere in this country.”
