NAZI SHIPPING ATTACKED

One Vessel Sunk Off Dutch Coast BREST AND CHERBOURG TARGETS BOMBED (British Official Wireless) (Received January 19, 6.30 p.m.) RUGBY, January 18. Coastal Command aircraft successfully attacked enemy shipping off the Dutch coast yesterday afternoon. Night operations were greatly restricted by bad weather, but targets at Brest, Cherbourg and two aerodromes in Occupied France were bombed. No British aircraft are missing from yesterday’s daylight and night operations. During the Dutch coast attacks, an Air Ministry communique states, direct hits were scored on four ships, one of which was left sinking with only the stern visible above the water. Another was seen listing to starboard.
