TAX EXEMPTION FOR OVERTIME PAY
DEMAND OF IRON WORKS EMPLOYEES (Received January 12, 8 p.m.) SYDNEY, January 12. A mass stop-work meeting on Saturday of 2000 iron workers and boilermakers decided not to work any further overtime unless such overtime earnings are exempted from Federal income tax and the State wages tax. The ban operates from Monday. The chairman of the meeting said the claims could not be granted by any Arbitration Court or by employers of Labour. It was a challenge to the Government of the country
