BENEFIT FROM WISE BUYING

W. H. BOYES LTD. HAVE WIDE RANGE OF GOODS

Wise foresight in buying has placed the firm of W. H. Boyes Ltd. in a fortunate position of having certain lines of goods that are not obtainable elsewhere, perhaps in New Zealand, certainly not in Southland. One of these lines is a splendid range of British morocco leather handbags. Owing to the restrictions, handbags of this sort cannot now be imported and even if they were obtainable the prices at which W. H. Boyes are able to sell them, 14/6 to 50/-, could not now be repeated. These bags are, however, but one of the many attractively priced lines of goods that the firm is at present displaying, and those on the look-out for Christmas gifts that will give satisfaction both to the giver and the recipient could not do better than visit the firm’s up-to-date store in Tay street.

There are handkerchiefs galore, including loom embroidered and hand embroidered, attractive lines imported direct from Belfast and selling at prices ranging from 4d to 2/6 each, handkerchiefs in British washing silk, and boxes of handkerchiefs. An umbrella is an acceptable and useful gift and the

range of umbrellas carried by W. H. Boyes is so large that it is difficult to see how anyone could fail to find an umbrella to suit his or her fancy. The umbrellas are all well made and have good reliable covers.

Owing to the difficulties arising from the war New Zealand importers have been unable to obtain certain lines this Christmas, but in spite of this W. H. Boyes Ltd., have a marvellously wide range of Christmas novelties. No gift is more dear to a woman’s heart than a dainty bottle of her favourite perfume, The firm carries a wide range of perfumery from all the famous makers. Their tables are also laden with boxes of soap, face creams and other toilet accessories. A distinct novelty this year is face cream in silk tubes, the advantage of which lies in the fact that the tubes will not burst or leak.

There are plenty of gifts for men, too, at Boyes’s and for soldier relatives or friends shaving outfits in leather cases with zipp fasteners and fitted with steel mirrors, and money belts at once suggest themselves as eminently suitable. The firm also carries a wide and attractive range of ties, socks, dressing gowns, tie and handkerchief sets, and silk scarves.

In a word W. H. Boyes Ltd, can fairly claim to have the best selection of moderately-priced Christmas goods in Southland.
