SANDERS CUP RACES IN 1941

FIRST TO BE SAILED AT AUCKLAND (United Press Association) AUCKLAND, December 18. The first race of the 1941 contest for the Sanders Cup will be sailed on the Waitemata harbour on January 30. This decision was made at a meeting of the Auckland Yacht and Motor-Boat Association. It was also agreed that an international Sanders Cup conference to make arrangements and provide for the control of the contest would meet at Auckland on January 28. It was thought certain that visiting boats would compete in the Auckland anniversary regatta on the following day to enable crews to become familiar with the wind and tide conditions in the harbour. The association received a late challenge from South Canterbury, and it was decided to accept this late entry as in order, provided the oher challenging centres (Wellington, Canterbury and Otago) approve.
