OFFICIAL FAREWELL TO LORD GALWAY

LARGE GATHERING AT AUCKLAND (United Press Association) AUCKLAND, December 18. Through a large gathering of representative citizens Auckland bad official farewell in the Town Hall tonight to the Governor-General (Lord Galway) and Lady Galway and to their family. The Mayor (Sir Ernest Davis) presided. An illuminated address that was presented to his Excellency was signed by representatives of all the local bodies in the suburban area.

In the course of his speech of acknowledgment Lord Galway gave a striking revew of the war situation since the fall of France to the present day.
