QUISLING PARTY IN DIFFICULTIES
LONDON, December 16. The Stockholm correspondent of The Times says that the Quisling Party is having a difficult time throughout Norway, being unable to gain hearings at meetings. Schools are centres of turmoil. Scholars dressed in Quisling uniforms are unable to go long without torn, uniforms and bruised bodies. Loyal scholars kidnap pro-Quisling schoolboys and duck them in unsavoury places. The Helsinki correspondent of The Daily Telegraph states that as punishment for a recent anti-Nazi demonstration the entire population of Alesund in Norway has been placed under house arrest for four days. The Stockholm correspondent of The Daily Express says that a riot followed German troops firing on an Alesund crowd assembled outside the barracks to demonstrate against Quisling. Two civilians were killed.
