TWO YOUTHS SENT TO BORSTAL
(United Press Association)
DUNEDIN, December 4.
In sentencing two youths of 17 years Allan Wilson Parmenter and Albert Reymond Lawrie, to Borstal detention for two years on charges of breaking, entering and theft at Dunedin and Invercargill, Mr Justice Kennedy said that in both cases the accused committed senseless damage to the premises. At Invercargill, flour, tea, sugar and eggs were thrown round the walls, earth and flower pots scattered, pictures and a clock smashed, and gas taps turned on, filling the house with gas. In Dunedin an electric heater was smashed, a door kicked in, and bottles of ink thrown over documents. Both had been before the Court previously and had been warned.
