BEACHED AFTER THE SMASHING RAID BY THE FLEET AIR ARM ON TARANTO BASE, this Italian battleship, of the Cavour (23,600 tons) class, appeared abandoned when the photograph was taken on November 14, two days after the attack. The photograph, taken by the R.A.F., reveals the Italian method of camouflage. This, the first picture of the raid, was wirelessed from London to Sydney.
