Fair And Mild
(Special to The Times) WELLINGTON, December 3.
Following is the special weather forecast for Southland issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington:— Moderate to fresh northerly to
north-westerly winds, weather fair and mild. Seas slight to moderate.
Following is the Dominion forecast:— Weather continuing fair to cloudy generally, except for some scattered morning drizzle. Temperatures mild
to warm. General Situation.—An extensive anticyclone centred over New Zealand is moving slowly eastward and a shallow disturbance is located east of Tasmania.
Winds.—Over the North Island light to moderate and variable; over the South Island moderate to fresh northerlies prevailing. Seas (New Zealand waters) —Slight to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea— Light to moderate northerly winds soon prevailing and gradually freshening in the south. Seas slight or moderate.
The weather in Invercargill yesterday was fine and sunny. A light westerly wind blew during the day. The weather at 1 o’clock this morning was fine and mild. The barometer readings for this morning, Tuesday and Monday have been:— This morning (rising) 30.16 in. Tuesday 30.34 in. Monday 30.46 in.
