SOUTHLAND WOMEN’S CLUB
ANNUAL MEETING The annual general meeting of the Southland Women’s Club was held yesterday afternoon, when Mrs A. F. Ritchie Crawford presided over a good After presenting the annual report, Mrs Crawford remarked on the success of the club’s activities during .the past year, and said that much patriotic work had been done and had proved a means of holding the club together during a difficult time. Mrs C. F. Hackworth endorsed the president’s remarks and congratulated the president on the success of the year’s work, also the Arts and Crafts Circle which had arranged several delightful functions. The following are the office-bearers for the ensuing year:—Patroness, Mrs D. McFarlane; president, Mrs A. F. Ritchie Crawford; vice-presidents, Mrs J. D. Gilmore, Miss C. McLeod and Mrs H. R. Gibson; committee, Mesdames J. McCrostie, B. W. Hewat, A. C. Dickens, A. E. H. Bath, A. M. Macdonald, A. W. Owen-Johnston, R. C. Barnett, G. R. Milward, J. N. Armour and Stanley Brown. A discussion took place on patriotic work for the coming year, and it was decided that the Patriotic Circle should continue to function.
A special vote of thanks was accorded Mrs A. C. Dickens for her floral decorations in the club throughout the year. Mrs Crawford thanked the chairmen and secretaries of the circles and all who had helped her during the year, particularly the secretarytreasurer, Miss Grace Basstian. Mrs A. M. Macdonald proposed a hearty vote of thanks to the president, and Mrs G. R. Milward expressed appreciation of the services of Mrs A. E. H. Bath, who had played the accompaniments at all functions in the past year.
