TENDERS ACCEPTED BY COUNTY COUNCIL

PRIMING AND SEALING CONTRACTS The tender of £1598 submitted by Highway Contractors Ltd. for the priming and sealing of Dunn’s Highway extension was accepted by the Southland County Council at its meeting yesterday. The same company’s tender of £629 for priming and sealing on the Wyndham-Mokoreta highway was accepted. The tender of Taylor Bros, for cuttings and fillings on the Croy-don-Retreat road of £260 was accepted, as was the tender of £263 of J. Crooks and Sons Ltd. for the supply and delivery of sand on rail at Invercargill. It was decided to submit a tender of £lOO for the cleaning of part of the Lochiel stream to the farmers affected.
