WOODLANDS Mr and Mrs Newell and Mr Percy Kimble,, of Invercargill, and Miss Audrey Hutchinson, Riverton, were recently the guests of Mr and Mrs J. E. Hickey. Mrs J. McHardy, sen., has returned from Ryal Bush, where she was the guest of her daughter, Mrs D. A. Taylor. Miss Jean Fennall, Waimatua, has been staying with Mr and Mrs J. E. Hickey. Mrs Chisnall, Invercargill, visited Mrs J. McHardy, jun., recently. Mrs Blay, Miss Joyce Sawtell, and Messrs F. Blay and M. Wilson, all of Christchurch, have been staying in Woodlands as the guests of Mr and Mrs I W. Clark, Grassmere. Mr and Mrs W. J. Taylor and their son, Eric, spent Labour Day week-end with Mr and Mrs A. Frew. Miss Pearl Muir has left Woodlands to join the nursing staff of the Kew Hospital. Mrs Ferguson, Gore, is the guest of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr and Mrs Bruce Henderson. Miss Doris McArthur, Invercargill, was the week-end guest of Miss Jean Bell. Misses C. McKerchar and B. Corrie, spent the week-end at Queenstown and Central Otago. Miss J, Johnston spent the week-end at Warepa. Miss D. Wimpenny has returned home after staying in Invercargill. Mrs L. Thwaites, Winton, is the guest of her parents, Mr and Mrs H. D. Tresidder. Miss L. Cross, Mandeville, is staying with Mrs J. McHardy, sen. Mrs A. C. W. Clark has returned from a holiday at Ranfurly. OTAUTAU Miss N. Aitken, Balclutha, spent the week-end with Mr and Mrs G. R. McMillan. Miss D. Wilson, Winton, is the guest of Mr and Mrs A. Liddell. Mrs J. R. McDougall spent a few days with Mr and Mrs J. Price, Invercargill, last week. Mr and Mrs A. E. Timpany, Gore, were the guests of Mr and Mrs A. H. Lindsay for the week-end. Miss Jean Stephens, Invercargill, spent Labour Day week-end with her parents. Mrs G. McKay, Wanganui, and Mrs Harold Smyth, Dunedin, are the guests of Mr and Mrs Hugh Smyth. Mr and Mrs Allan Angus and Miss' Allison Angus, Lumsden, spent the week-end with Mr and Mrs W. Angus. Miss K. Thwaites is spending a holiday at Queenstown. Miss Mavis McMillan, Invercargill, j visited her home for the week-end. Mr and Mrs A. Buchanan visited Mrs G. Low during the week-end. Miss E. Matheson spent a few days with Miss Betty Lynch, Wreys Bush, last week. Mrs J. Kirk and Mr W. Seatter motored to Brydone, where they were the guests of Mr and Mrs R. Muir. Miss McWhirter is the guest of Mrs Gutschlag. Miss Arnott visited Mrs Manson, | Bayswater, during the week-end. Miss N. Henderson was the guest of Mr and Mrs R. R. Walker and Mr and Mrs A. R. Simon during the week-end. Mr and Mrs R. L. Pettitt, Dunedin, have been visiting Mr and Mrs H. Summers. Mr and Mrs A. Vanes, Dunedin,, are spending a holiday with the Misses Seatter, Chester street. Mr and Mrs Ham visited Mrs Macdonald, Queen street, during the weekend. Mrs Burgess, Winton, was a recent guest of Mrs Gutschlag.
WINTON Mr and Mrs R. McDougall, of Invercargill, were the guests of Mrs A. McLeod for a few days last week. Mr and Mrs P. Boylen and Misses T. and E. Boylen, Park street, were visitors to Kelso for the week-end. Mr and Mrs P. F. de la Perrelle and their family, of Invercargill, spent Labour Day week-end with Mr and Mrs J. de la Perrelle, Park street. Misses Joyce and Joan Darnill, Prince street, have returned from a visit to Christchurch. Miss Jenny Thomson, of Invercargill, spent the week-end with her sister, Mrs W. Swale, Meadowbank, Limehills. Mesdames G. Lodge and G. Maynard, Park street, have returned from a holiday in Dunedin. Miss L. Barrett, of Invercargill, spent the week-end with Mrs W. Hamilton, Park street. Mr and Mrs T. Wray Wilson, of Invercargill, spent Labour Day week-end with Mr and Mrs W. L. Cunningham, Castle Downs, Dipton. Miss B. Pagey, of Invercargill, has been the guest of Miss M. Gerrard, New road. Mr and Mrs Bailey, of Invercargill, were visitors to Winton on Saturday for the Cowan—Nimmo wedding. Miss C. Blamires, Park street, was a visitor to Kelso for Labour Day weekend. Miss K. Boyle, Meldrum street, was a recent visitor to Riverton. Miss J. Grimwood, Devereux road, spent the week-end in Invercargill. Misses M. McDermott, Albert street, and N. Mcllwrick, Arthur street, were visitors to Invercargill for the weekend. Miss D. Wilson, Park street, has been the guest of her sister Mrs A. A. Liddell, Otautau. Those who travelled from Winton to attend the Gore Racing Club’s spring meeting included Mr and Mrs J. R. Todd, Mr and Mrs W. Hamilton, Mr and Mrs W. Swale, Mr and Mrs L.
